donutmedialab.com — AC Milan managed to end the Scudetto fast after winning the 2021/2022 Serie A. Zlatan Ibrahimovic gives a fiery speech in the Milan dressing room.
A 3-0 victory at Sassuolo headquarters on Sunday (22/5/2022) ensured Milan became the Italian League champions. The Rossoneri finished with 86 points, two ahead of last season’s champions and closest rivals Inter Milan.
It was AC Milan’s first Italian League title since last lifting it in 2010/2011, when he was under Massimiliano Allegri.
Ibrahimovic contributed eight goals for Milan in the middle of a season plagued with various injuries. However, Ibrahimovic has had a huge impact on passing on a winning mentality to his juniors.
The former Juventus and Inter player has the potential to retire as his contract expires in June. However, Ibra did not make a speech to discuss his future.
Speaking in fluent Italian, the 40-year-old footballer expressed his proud feelings for the AC Milan squad. “Come on everyone here,” said Ibrahimovic in a video clip posted on the club’s official Twitter account.
“Friends, calm down. I don’t want to say goodbye,” he said, which was greeted with laughter from the Milan squad.
“Guys, from the first day when I came and then the other players came later, few believed in us. However, when we understand that we need sacrifices, suffering, faith and effort… when this happens we become a group, and when you are a group you can achieve a lot of what we have accomplished.”
“Now we are Italian champions. First, I want to thank all the players. Now I speak on behalf of the whole team. We also want to thank Paolo (Maldini), Ricky (Massara) and Ivan (Gazidis).”
“So far it has not been easy, but we have become a real group this season. Even though at the start of this season, no one believed in us. But with these principles we have become stronger. I am really proud of all of you.”
“Now help me: celebrate like a champion because it’s not the city of Milan that belongs to AC Milan. Italy belongs to AC Milan!” shouted Ibrahimovic, turning the table in the middle of the room.
