donutmedialab.com — Stefano Pioli’s Italian League champions medal has been stolen. The perpetrator then flaunted it on social media.
AC Milan managed to lock up the 2021/2022 Serie A title after being able to beat Sassuolo 3-0 at Mapei Stadium, Sunday (22/5/2022) night WIB. Three Milan goals were born from Olivier Giroud’s brace and Franck Kessie’s nicks.
Milan won the Scudetto competition with Inter. Il Diavolo Rosso ended the season at the top of the table with 86 points, two ahead of Inter in second. The Snake’s 3-0 victory in the last week over Sampdoria seemed meaningless.
The Rossoneri have successfully ended their 11-season Serie A title drought, having last won the Scudetto in 2010/2011. Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, is clearly a key figure behind Milan’s success in winning this Serie A title.
Unfortunately for Pioli. The champion’s medal disappeared and it was suspected that a bad person had deliberately taken the pendulum from his medal, which was hanging around his neck.
Well, the thief appears to have identified himself via social media by posting on Instagram Stories. The medal was shown in his hand with the caption: ‘Thank you Pioli.’
Pioli has already expressed his hope that there will be a replacement medal from the Lega Serie A side.
“My championship medal was stolen, someone took it off my neck. If I could ask for a replacement, I would be grateful, it’s the only one I have,” Pioli was quoted as saying by La Repubblica.
Serie A responded to Pioli’s request. They will provide a substitute champion medal for the 56-year-old coach.
“Don’t worry Mr Pioli, we will give you another medal tomorrow,” the Serie A side wrote on their Twitter account.
